Fine line

Tyler is now at that age where he needs attention and cuddles due to his teething. But we have the added strain that he is advanced for his age, and now he is after help with trying to walk, your probably wondering after reading this what's the fine line?

That line of your baby being Spoilt or just in need of something?

I don't want Tyler to be like some of the babies you see that cry all the time due to being picked up and carried all day. Yes babies need lots of love and attention which Tyler is given.

To stop him being needy we started the self sooth method when putting him to bed, or when ever he was showing signs of getting tired, we would put him in his cot, telling him why he is going in (yes he was about 5months but can never start teaching your child to early) we would explain its bed time/nap time using these words exactly and repeating them tell him night night we love you and leave him. It seems cruel at first, but it's for the best. Tyler took 20minutes the first time we tried this method then after that it just seem to get shorter and shorter!!

When a baby is teething, I don't really think you can give them too much love? You know your baby better than anyone, you know when their crying it means something, it's not just a "mommy I need you to hold me" kinda cry!

Considering Tyler is my first baby, And I haven't had younger brothers or sisters, so no previous experience what so ever! I'm proud to know Tyler doesn't cry for attention all the time and he is well behaved! He is a clever young boy :)

Anyone got any thoughts on this? I know some will hugely disagree on this blog and others will strongly agree. But these are my own thoughts written down.

Yours Sara and Tyler
