Healthy Lifestyle; Days 1

I'm afraid I don't have pictures, for some odd reason I seem to forget to take a picture every time I sit down to eat.. so the next 3 days worth of blog I have to write won't have pictures unless I can find something very similar online.. ?

So Day 1 started on the 26.6.2012 A day after my baby boy Tyler turned 7 months old, and seen as he is now 7months, leaving 5 before he is just one I think my body should be getting back to normal. My mom has said I need a year to allow everything to get slightly normal and I am being patient, but it's not just about oh I had a baby and I must be super thin again! I know that's not going to happen because my body changed in order for me to deliver my gorgeous baby! Hips expand and my bust has grown, and of course I have a few stretch marks... but i'm pretty sure I've mentioned before, stretch marks are like tiger strips.. we've earned them!

What i'm trying to say is yes, I can get in shape, and get my figure back, but it will never really be exactly the same, which I'm fine with and so should you be if your reading this feeling a bit down about yourself :)

On with the food diary!!

So for breakfast on day one I had a bowl of porridge, with a small amount of Candarel on it... I know, I know.. But it's a lot better than granulated sugar, it doesn't contain half as much fat.. but I have ALWAYS had sugar on my porridge.. it is a must!

Lunch I made chicken fajita, and I was a little naughty and used the pre made salsa sauce, but I will next time try and make my own!!But I added something a little different and put some spinach in the mix too.. was rather yummy.

Dinner Chicken leg, with a chilli type sauce home made, with roasted potatoes, salad with peppers, grapes and rasisin's in it!

I was a little naughty and had 3 biscuits!

So I felt pretty good, I hadn't felt the need during the day to snack much at all.

I'll do Day 2 later I think, as I have a few days to catch up on!!

Healthy Lifestyle; Dare I say...?

So I have finally received my journal which I posted a picture of on my twitter I intend to use it take measurements of myself and take a note of what I eat during the day where I can work out how many "calories" I take in a day, and whether I meet the Daily Guideline Allowance. And also take notes about how I feel, about myself, body and in general!

I promised pictures today.. However I got upset after seeing them... BUT I will put some up when I get someone to re-take the pictures and add them to the blog, I'll let you know when I do!

I have taken my measurements for you though;

Waist; 29 n half "
Bust (under); 30 "
Bust (over); 36 "
Hips; 37 "
Bum; 40 "
Thigh 22 "

Weight 9stone 13lb... I'm looking to weigh 9..

I will mention since trying to start the healthy diet with out my diet book etc, I have noticed I seem to be breaking out!! (spots) I haven't had spots for ages!!! ?? Since school?! Like a hormonal teenager all over again!!

i'm sure sticking to a facial routine shall help out as well though!

Healthy lifestyle update

My books haven't arrived yet.. hoping they will be here this week, although I have already started with my healthy eating plan!

I made banana muffins that my cousin had tried, I'm not 100% sure if I got the measurement's right as we were using different methods for weighing out our ingredients but they don't taste awful so that's gotta mean something.. right? It helps that Tyler loved them.

When I try them again using cups for measurement's I shall do a blog for you. I also hope to sort another blog for tomorrow... (wishful thinking) which will have pictures of my current body... What exercises I plan to do, with my measurements and weight!! *cringeee*

Do I really want to do this?! ... Being healthy isn't meant to be hard work.. It's simply a lifestyle choice I'm choosing to do this.. So it shouldn't be too hard... I don't have confidence in these word of wisdom at all!
Well we can only try ...

And I must say it seems to be going well, although the books haven't arrived, I have already started by using Candarel sweeteners rather than sugar! mmm sugar! So that's a start, My fridge is FULL of healthy fruit and veg

I have already started to eat better too.. virtually no chocolate or sweets! I don't really eat crisps anyway so they aren't in the picture follow my twitter for pictures on meals I eat and general updates!

Well.. Shall try do the promised blog tomorrow.

Yours Sara

7 months!

Today marks Tyler being in our lives for 7 whole months! Isn't that crazy?! 7 months! Feels like yesterday he was just arriving and filling our world with a busy schedule's and somewhat hectic at times... (while writing that very sentence I had to run across the room while Tyler tries to be a gymnast on my DVD box) Yes as I was saying.. I just love him so much, the more clever I realize he is for his age the more and more I have dreams and ambitions for him! is that normal? Do we all feel like that as parents?

So what can Tyler do by now?!

Well... he talks.. or should that be ramble and bable?! with a whole lot of little "squeaks and screaming"  so he enjoys his talking.. wonder where he gets that from *winky face*

So the more exciting things he does are...

He now crawls.. not just on his belly but properly! Didn't take him too long to work out after turning 6months.

He stands up against things he has again since turning 6months, he walks along objects and can walk when you hold his little hands to give him support.. Which is causing him to get a little upset at times, due to the fact his body isn't really capable to do it alone! So he does get a little naggy and frustrated at himself when he can't do something!

He has two teeth!!

Umm.. I think that's about it!? I don't think he's done much else, I think this month we will be getting a visit from the health visitor, so we will be able to find out his weight! When we do find out we will be able to turn his car seat around, although I did write a rather good review on this product, but trying to turn it around the other day was slightly difficult, it may be our car, however without instructions (other than the ones on the car seat) we weren't very happy with the stability or it.

My little tiny baby is going to be 1 in 5months?! OMG not only exciting but scary... it's gone so fast! I have to plan his birthday, we have Christmas to look forward, next year he can have an Easter egg.. The excitement has just being.. I feel like our lives are just beginning!

While I write this Tyler makes a mess of the front room.. But I wouldn't change my life for anything.

Well that's all we have to update you with Mommies&Daddies and Bumps&Babies...

Yours Sara & Tyler xoxo

The start of something new!

So I have decided after some inspiration from my cousin Pam, that it is time to get back on the healthy eating diet!! I had started as I have said before but now it's time to start and not stop!
After all its not just for me? My little boy will want what I have? What kind of mom would I be to stuff my face with a bag of haribo while watching a film and tell Tyler no? So as I believe "lead by example". I don't want my baby boy eating rubbish... So why feed it to myself?! (hence why I have decided to post this on my mommy blog)

My cousins blog. Pam is on day 3 on her blog posts. So I better hurry up!!

I shall officially start my food dairies, when I receive my books, which I plan to buy today. I'm going to follow the same diet as my cousin Pam, which is the Dr Gott's No flour, No sugar diet! ... No sugar my normal idea of hell!! .. NO I/WE CAN DO THIS. I shall also purchase the Dr Gotts No flour, No Sugar Cookbook.

I also see this as a great time to start a diet, seen as my partner and I have said we intend to start going swimming once a week with our little boy so Richard can have Tyler while I do a few lap's and vis versa. May also start to try jogging again. IF the weather ever gets better!!

My one problem with jogging, is it is better to start on flat roads, but living in the Welsh mountains and valley's that can be somewhat of a problem really.. So it may take some getting use to. I would join a gym but getting there in the week would be a problem also as my partner works, I don't have anyone to have Tyler.. Wouldn't really be happy leaving him with a stranger and I don't drive?!? And with no buses in my area and living miles out with a taxi costing stupidly ridiculous amounts, I think the gym with be the TV along with a workout DVD!!

Well enough rambling... Last but not least I will try add a picture on the official starting blog! along with my weight etc!! I'm hoping by blogging I will feel the need to keep going when I feel the temptations etc setting in.. So maybe knowing you guys are reading it will push me on!

Yours Sara xxxx

Splish splash...

First things first... HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL THE DADDIES.. Sorry I am late saying it! Been super busy. I hope everyone had a great fathers day, and got spoilt by your budding bundle of joy. :)

So on to the actual topic of this blog ... We took Tyler swimming for the first time last Sunday (hence why I have added in my fathers day wishes!)

It was sooo fun! And Richard loved it, it was a great treat for his first fathers day. I don't really think I can write a whole lot about this special moment. Other than we will most certainly be going again, he was a little uncertain too start with but we think that was more down to the pool being slightly cold... which even I didn't enjoy.. But a quick game of peek-a-boo and he soon got happier, he even started to kick his legs... Just forgot his arms!! hehe. And we couldn't take any pictures which was a bit upsetting being his first time! :( but rules are rules.

How did you spend your fathers day?

Your Sara & Tyler

Safe proof; Baby proof

Baby proof your house!! Yes its come to that time... Tyler hit 6months last month and he is now into everything!!

Straight away my little boy started to crawl... he got his teeth, started pulling himself up andddd decided whenever someone lifts him to his feet he will walk around for a while!

So how to baby proof your home for crawling critters;

Stair gates!! So you will want one of these at the top of your stairs and on your kitchen door... At some later stage I also plan to put one on the bottom of the stairs but I will worry about that when Tyler is showing signs of walking on his own!!

Socket Covers.. We don't want little fingers covered in dribble being put into plug sockets! So make sure you get socket covers for ALL the sockets in your house!!

Hide it!... Hide any wires that your little bundle of fun can get hold of!! Tyler just loves wires! No matter how hard we try to keep them out of sight.. as they say out of sight out of mind... For Tyler this theory isn't as good!! So keep anything out of the way and up high!

Move it! Move anything valuable or heavy that is in reach of light hands to reach for!! As you don't want your bundle to end up with a bump!

Lock them... Get child safety locks on your cub board in the kitchen with all your cleaning products in! You may have a stair gate but why take the risk?!

Can you  think of anything I haven't? Tips and Tricks? Comment below
