Rubber Lover

So today's blog is a well deserved review for my new teething toy I got my baby boy this week....

and enter the panda teether

This teether is amazing, my little boy has been teething since he was 8 weeks old.. but still no teeth just lots of chewing, but all our teether's we have used so far have been too big for his little mouth! So I saw this product in a magazine, and thought lets try it...

  • So for one all its packaging it came in was all recycled and biodegradable!
  • Part of the money made from this product is donated to the WWF charity.
  • its 100% RUBBER!!
  • No PVC, No BPA, No phthalates, No artificial colours just 100% natural rubber from the sustainable rubber trees (Hevea trees)
  •  The price isn't bad either at £8.99

It's fab! And even better my little boy can bite all he likes! It is not only soft enough, but due to the shape parts are small enough for his mouth! He loves it!!

Here is the link where to buy this item, from Victoria Health;

What do you think of this product? Have you tried it for your teething tot?

Advent

This is another review for manual breast pump this time by Advent.

I LOVED this breast pump. I thought it was a lot better than the tommee tippee (http://sarafrances2012.blogspot.com/2012/02/tommee-tippee.html
I thought it was amazing! When pressing the pump down you can hold it their for a few seconds allowing the "suction" to get as much out the breast during one pump. Made pumping that bit easier, It never leaked at all either no drips etc running down the breast.
I don't know how much it cost as it was borrowed from a friend. However the current price is around £28.99 at the moment it is £18.99 at mothercare.

I would totally recommend this product. Was fab!!

Have you any thoughts on this product? Or any other breast pump you have used?

Tommee tippee

This is a product review for the tommee tippee manual breast bump.

So the main reason I used the tommee tippee breast pump is because I was using the bottles. You cant attach the different brand bottle to the breast bump.

As you will all know from my other blog best breast? link provided if you haven't read it; http://sarafrances2012.blogspot.com/2012/02/best-breast.html but to briefly explain I both bottle and breast fed my baby with formula and expressed milk and for a while did latch Tyler to my breast.

My main thought on this pump is that it wasn't excellent, the piece to put on the breast was quite large, and if you weren't applying enough pressure the pump didn't work, and it would sometime leak slightly at the bottom, wasting (what felt like gold dust) my breast milk that was meant for Tyler!

When bought it comes with a sterilising box to be put in the microwave, 1 bottle, a storage cup and a few breast pads.

It cost me around £30.00 which So the price wasn't too bad.

It was easy to use, however I still wasn't too happy with the piece that attaches to the breast.

I don't think I would use this again, I would either try the electrical one or I will use the other pump I was given by a friend to borrow, which I shall do another review one.

So have you used this breast bump? Do you have any comments about it?

Bump to Bumbling Baby

Well tomorrow will mark my baby boy being 12 weeks old. 3 Months!
It feels like yesterday he was tiny and helpless, Yet in 12 weeks he has accomplished so much!!

From holding his head on his own, to smiling, lifting up slightly, pulling his head up and ... unusual ... teething!! Thats right I said it Teething!! Started at 8 Weeks. He has got in to a good routine with sleeping which he learnt after about 3weeks, and now even sleeps from 8/9pm till 5am!! Amazing!!

He has gone from weighing 7.7 and a half lb to weighing 13lb!! He's also a rather long baby, so we think he's going to be a tall young boy.

His eye colour is still undecided as I have Brown eyes, and Richard has Blue .. So still a bit of a guessing game as they keep changing.
They are looking more browny/green at the moment though

He definitely has my hair colour though.... RED HEAD! Which is probably going to be slightly more red than mine as Richard is dirty/dark blonde and like I said i'm red haired so you can only imagine his hair will probably be lighter!

Well here are some pictures of our little bundle of fun...

Sleeping like a....

Baby

Sometimes all I can do is sit and stare at the perfectness of my precious little boy.

He is only 3 months old but from being tiny he already looks so big!! Looking at him everyday never gets boring he seems to get more beautiful and handsome every day. Every moment of being able to look at his precious face is a moment too short that passes so quick.

This was just a short blog for you to enjoy.

Do you have any stories or general day to day feelings about being a mommy you want to share? If so comment below on your day with your little ones.

We shall keep you posted on more things Tyler and I get up too X

Be Proud

I was on my Social Networking site the other day, and a good friend of mine who has also recently had a baby sent me a picture, which I now want to share with you!
As it is so true.

......

This picture made me think about the few marks I had/have and I was quite lucky with stretch marks during my entire pregnancy, however I know some aren't as fortunate.

It made me think in a whole different way! Yes I had realised that my body would change, and it would  change in many different ways forever.

But to think of these changes in such a different way now makes me even more proud than I was before.

My basic message is too love your body after birth.

Yes we can look at celebrities and think, ughhh how does she do it?!
your answer; Surgery, photo shop, airbrushing and a silly diet that just isn't good for you!

Hope this makes you feel as good as it made me feel

Best Breast?

Whats best, bottle or breast?
what about both a bit of Breattle?

I found it so hard trying to make the decision to chose breast or bottle. I started on the bottle but after a about  a week i just felt like trying breast i didn't know what to do, so i tried it. There is nothing different between breast milk and bottled milk, their both full of the same things the baby needs other then the one is natural and coming out your body!
Nobody can you tell you what the right decision is, only you can be the judge of that. This is how i made my decision:

  • my partner cant help feed the baby.
  • my partner wouldn't get that chance to bond with Tyler while feeding him as I would.
  • What about Expressing?? That way my partner could help more.
  • I would not ware myself out doing the day feeds and the night feeds.
  • I would bond better with my baby
  • Breast feeding is free
  • Will it hurt?
  • Could I combination feed?

image is my own

So not only was i giving my baby the breast i gave him the bottle to, so he was having a bit of both i call it Breattle. Yes there were some downsides my breasts did leak alot, and it was extremely tiring but Tyler had the best part of my breast milk which was the first two weeks. After that I just couldn't keep up with breast feeding, my son needed feeding so regular it just start making my breasts become sore, and bled a bit.

So in the end i went back to bottle, but I don't regret any of my decisions, because my son is a happy, healthy baby :).

Worst for the mommy

So the other day my little boy had his first jabs.. 2 one in each leg :(

I can say not it was not enjoyable. As my doctor said to me.. it's worst for mom than it is for baby.
Tyler's scream was the worst ever! It was an actual, "mom thats hurting" and I couldn't do anything to make it better.

So after the jab's how was our baby boy? We'll he was quite unsettled for the rest of the night, upset and crying slightly due to his legs hurting, but extra cuddles make everything OK.
Again also the day after he wasn't the happiest but calpol seemed to help calm him down.

How to cope as a mom?

So the reason i'm writing this blog?? After going to have his jab's I realized the reason I coped so well was because I had my partner!
He held Tyler for the jab's as I didn't my emotion's getting Tyler more worked up.
And having my partner was the largest support ever.

But what about the mommies doing it alone? Or even the daddies?
Well don't fear! Family and friend's are also huge forms of support! Remember they have been their before don't be afraid to ask for help! If you have friends with a new baby ask them to go with you. They can help you out, they have been their more recently than your parents!! So it's all fresh in their mind!

Well this is just a short blog really, writing about my baby boy

Hope you enjoy this blog. Write a comment about your experiences and the reaction your baby had.
